USB Webcam System: Audio or video format conflict | Auckland
Pattern to record: Lower settings work but a preferred high-quality mode fails.
Trace video, input and output separately
Identify the USB webcam selected in the call application and test video separately from any built-in microphone. Bluetooth headset audio is a different path and does not explain USB camera capture failure by itself. One possible explanation is that the selected resolution, frame rate or sample format is unsupported by part of the path.
Compare the failing connection
- Compare another USB port and application, check privacy permission and test sustained capture.
- Compare supported formats across device, cable, driver and application.
Before changing the setup
Disconnect any cable with crushed insulation or an overheating camera. Forcing exotic formats can create silence or unstable capture.
Restore the intended function
If the checks support this cause, select a mutually supported format or repair the limiting connection. Verification should cover video, microphone if fitted, multiple applications, sleep and a sustained call.
