Desktop Label Printer Media Path: Misaligned media guides | Auckland
Pattern to record: Pages enter at an angle from the start of travel.
Locate the feed stage
Labels must match the printer’s gap, black-mark or continuous-media sensing mode. Record stock width, liner and roll orientation before calibration; label adhesive can contaminate the platen and sensor path. One possible explanation is that side guides are too loose, tight or uneven for the loaded media.
Feed-path checks
- Confirm label type and calibration, then inspect guides, platen and sensors.
- Set guides to the actual media and inspect tray geometry for damage.
Before inspecting the mechanism
Adhesive residue should be removed with the printer powered off. Over-tight guides can buckle paper and overload the pickup.
Correct the confirmed cause
If the checks support this cause, realign or replace damaged guide parts. Verification should cover single labels, batch labels, gap detection, calibration and clean exit.
