All-in-One Computer Ethernet Interface: Bent Ethernet port contact | Auckland
Pattern to record: Link changes when the cable is reseated or one speed never negotiates.
Separate the adapter from the network
Identify whether Ethernet is built into the all-in-one or supplied through an external adapter. Compare the rear connector with a known cable and switch port before opening the display assembly. One possible explanation is that one spring contact no longer aligns with the cable plug.
Link and configuration checks
- Compare link before Windows loads, inspect the rear port and test another switch connection.
- Inspect all eight contacts and compare a known undamaged cable.
Before internal work
All-in-one internal mains sections require trained handling. Probing a powered port with metal can short magnetics or power.
Verify the network path
If the checks support this cause, replace the connector or complete interface assembly. Verification should cover link speed, sustained traffic, camera or video workload, sleep and restart.
