Ultrabook Internal Battery: Battery connector fault | Auckland
Ultrabook Internal Battery: battery connector fault. Loose, contaminated or damaged contacts interrupt pack power and communication.
The distinguishing clue
The battery disappears intermittently or operation changes with chassis movement.
Checks before an assessment
Look for a raised touchpad, separating case seam or changed keyboard fit without pressing on it. Any swelling is a reason to stop charging.
Stop point: Do not press a raised touchpad or bend a swollen pouch cell.
Workshop confirmation and repair
Device-level check: Inspect for swelling, read capacity data and compare light and moderate load away from an unsafe pack.
Targeted check: Inspect the connector and cable with all power removed. If confirmed: Repair the connection or replace the damaged pack cable and socket.
Repair boundary: Replace the exact thin battery and inspect the palm-rest structure for pressure damage.
Related cause to rule out
When charging is blocked or interrupted despite normal room conditions, also consider Ultrabook Internal Battery: battery temperature-sensor fault before choosing a repair.
Checks after the work
After repair or replacement, check case fit, touchpad, full charge, discharge, sleep and temperature.
