All-in-One Display Tilt Hinge: Hinge alignment error | Auckland
Pattern to record: The screen sits twisted or rubs against the stand through its permitted tilt range.
Locate the moving or damaged part
The stand supports the entire all-in-one, not just a laptop lid. Unplug and support the unit before inspecting the stand, mounting plate or tilt pivot; laptop lid switches and battery-housing assumptions do not apply. A stand or tilt assembly fixed outside its intended alignment can twist or restrict the supported display.
Support the assembly
The complete unit is heavy and must be supported before hinge fasteners are released. Forcing the display against its stop can crack the panel edge.
Mechanical inspection
- Remove external load, inspect stand pivots and mounting plates and confirm the display housing is not cracking.
- Loosen only with full support, establish neutral alignment and inspect for pre-existing deformation.
Fit and movement after repair
If the checks support this cause, realign the assembly in the correct sequence and replace distorted parts. Verification should cover tilt range, stand stability, housing fit, cable clearance and vibration resistance.
